In 2007 the Parish Council decided to try to replace its rather dated sports pavilion and to include, if possible, a meeting or function room, as there is no suitable facility of this nature in the village. Two working groups got to work, one looked for a location and suitable design and the other group concentrated on finding funding. By 2011 it became clear that the village was not likely to receive a big lottery grant, but that smaller grants might be available. The Parish Council decided then that it would try to achieve a smaller 'Village Hall' than originally planned for use as a community room while undertaking an interim scheme of refurbishment for the existing pavilion.
After enormous amounts of work to raise funds, design and manage the project involving a large majority in the community we are absolutely delighted to announce
Oving Village Hall officially opened on Saturday 28th June 2014!
The building comprises a meeting room of 6.6 x 10.5 metres together with a fully equipped kitchen, a furniture and equipment store and toilets. The building is sited in a position where it overlooks the playground, the football pitch and the tennis courts in the heart of the village.
